Product Overview
The Sugia OmniScope E2 extends the E-Series platform to a 6.0 mm probe diameter with a 3.0 m insertion tube, addressing inspection scenarios where deeper reach is required but 4-way articulation is not essential. This product occupies the cost-sensitive segment between fixed-focus non-articulating inspection cameras and full 4-way professional videoscopes.
The 6.0 mm probe diameter accommodates a larger 1/6-inch CMOS sensor compared to the 3.9 mm E1, resulting in improved low-light sensitivity (minimum illumination 5 lux at 150 mm working distance). The 2-way articulation system uses the same electro-mechanical architecture as the E1 but with increased torque output to manage the longer insertion tube’s higher column-buckling resistance.
The 3.0 m working length is particularly relevant for inspecting pipeline girth welds through single access points, drain-waste-vent (DWV) plumbing risers in multi-story buildings, and horizontal runs in process piping where access ports may be spaced up to 6 meters apart (permitting inspection from both directions).
Key Engineering Features
- Extended 3.0 m Insertion Tube: Tungsten-braided outer jacket with polyurethane coating provides abrasion resistance and column stiffness for navigating straight pipe runs up to the full working length without guide tubes.
- Enlarged 6.0 mm Probe Sensor: 1/6-inch CMOS with 45% larger pixel-well area versus the 3.9 mm sensor, delivering usable images at 5 lux minimum scene illumination.
- 2-Way 180° Articulation: High-torque servo with proportional-speed joystick; sustained holding torque of 0.12 N·m maintains tip position against gravity in vertical pipe runs.
- Dual Illumination Mode: White LED ring (default) plus optional side-emitting radial diffuser for circumferential pipe-wall inspection without rotating the probe body.
- On-Screen Measurement Reticle: Software-generated crosshair and concentric-circle overlay with millimeter calibration at 10 mm, 25 mm, and 50 mm working distances for rapid defect sizing.
