Product Overview
The Sugia OmniScope A2 is the centerpiece of the A-Series platform — a fully interchangeable probe architecture that allows a single console to accept 4.0 mm, 6.0 mm, and 6.1 mm HD probe modules with insertion-tube lengths from 2.0 m to 7.5 m. This design is targeted at third-party NDT inspection service providers who must cover multiple asset types, access-port geometries, and inspection standards with a single capital equipment investment.
The probe-to-console interface uses a proprietary 24-pin circular connector with active electronics in each probe module that identifies probe diameter, serial number, calibration date, accumulated articulation cycles, and optical configuration to the console on connection. Probe swap time is under 45 seconds from disconnect to full system recognition, including automatic recall of the last-used illumination and articulation settings for that specific probe.
The 6.0 mm probe achieves the maximum 180° articulation on all four axes — a specification that exceeds the IPLEX NX platform (which reaches 180° on 6.0 mm but drops to 150° at 7.5 m and 130° at 4.0 mm). The A2 maintains 180° across its entire 6.0 mm probe range (2.0 m to 7.5 m) through a tension-wire preload compensation system that adjusts actuator torque based on the probe-length parameter read from the probe-module EEPROM.
